ELIJAH
Winner of two Gemini Awards (for Best TV Movie and Best Writing), Elijah tells the true story of Elijah Harper, a shy reluctant politician from a remote Northern Cree community (the first treaty Indian to become a Canadian MLA) who became a voice to his people when he stood up to Brian Mulroney’s Meech Lake Accord in 1990. Told with a surprising combination of heart and humour, Elijah balances drama and comedy to create an entertaining portrait of one of the key figures in recent Canadian history.
